Mustard Greens Poriyal | Mustard Greens Fry

Ingredients Required:
Mustard Greens : 250 Grams
Grated Coconut : 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder: 1 tsp
Salt as required
For Seasoning
Oil: 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
Asafoetida powder a pinch
Chana dal: 1 tsp
Urad dal: 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds: 1 tsp
Onion: 3 tbsp Chopped
Green Chili: 1 Chopped
Minced garlic: 1
Curry Leaves

Method:
Step 1: Add oil in a pan after the oil gets heated, add in the mustard seeds, then add cumin seeds, urad & chana dals, asafoetida powder.
Step 2: Add in minced garlic, onion, chili and curry leaves, saute it for a minute.
Step 3: Then add, mustard greens and saute it for 5 minutes. then add, salt, turmeric powder and coriander powder and saute it for 5 minutes.
Step 4: After greens cooked well then add, grated coconut and saute it for 2 mins.

Mustard greens are different varieties, it may vary depends on countries. Here i use mustard greens with curly leaves. South Indian style side dish is simple and delicious with grated coconut especially with greens. It is easy to cook with less time and ingredients. This recipe is side dish with steamed rice.
