Sesame Chutney

Ingredients Needed:

  • White sesame: 1 tbsp
  • Black sesame: 1 tbsp
  • Onion: 1 medium size
  • Oil: 2 tbsp
  • Urad dal: 1 tbsp
  • Chana dal: 1 tbsp
  • Garlic: 2 large
  • Chopped Ginger: 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
  • Salt as needed
  • Tamarind: 1/2 lemon size
  • Grated Coconut: 1/2 cup
  • Red chili: 2 Nos

Instruction:

  1. In a deep bottom pan, add white sesame and black sesame and saute it for 3 to 5 mins in low flame. Transfer this in to plate and keep aside.
  2. In same pan, or else in another pan, add oil when oil gets hot, add urad dal, chana dal, cumin seeds and red chili with a pinch asafoetida.
  3. After few second add, onion, chopped ginger and garlic with a little salt to fry.
  4. Once onion gets fried, add tamarind, salt as needed, coconut and off the flame. Cool it and mix all the ingredients in a mixer jar and make a chutney by adding little amount of water.
Note: Use small onion it gives a good taste to the chutney. You can also try Separately with white or else black sesame.
